Adobe Application Manager is an official tool from Adobe which provides the ability to update and install applications from the Creative Suite and the Creative Cloud. The program works by downloading different applications directly from the Adobe servers and fixing errors which occur when attempting to download and install updates and trial versions. The interface of Adobe Application Manager does not provide any special functions and it easy-to-use but cannot be customized or configured in any meaningful way. When running the program for the first time, it may download some extras and thus take some extra time to really get access to the program.Compatibility and LicenseAdobe Application Manager is a freeware, but ad-supported application available on Windows from software install managers. You may encounter different types of ads or offers when running and installing this program. Though ads might be present, download and installation of this PC software is free and 10.0 is the latest version last time we checked.
I have downloaded and am running Creative Cloud CS6 versions of Illustrator and Photoshop that I installed back in Decmember. Now I'm trying to download more applications and am encountering this error:
Application manager flashes this warning for a split second: \"other instances of adobe application manager are currently running which must be closed before installing this product. Please close or wait for them to complete.\" (see image). This warning closes on its own after just a second.
Photoshop and Illustrator still run fine, but none of my Adobe apps (including Air) will update properly now. I have tried deleting the App Manger files from applications > utilities and re-installing, but that also creates an error.
Step 6: Unzip the file and click on the AdobeCreativeSuiteCleanerTool.exe, that was in my directory as follows (dependent on where you download and unzip of course) C:\\Users\\study\\Downloads\\adobe_creative_suite_cleaner_tool (1)\\win
Step 7: select (e) in the black box for \"english\", select (y) for yes, select creative cloud (whichever option # that is) and again anything with creative cloud (this did NOT delete my other adobe files, which I feared may - but I was simply instructing it to clean/delete the creative cloud.
If that doesn't work, what I did is between steps 4 and 5 I restarted my computer, then I went into task manager and closed all adobe apps. I'm not sure I had to do this step but I was desperate after 2 days doing whatever. Each tech person gave me different information. The last person helped me best, but I spoke with her via chat AFTER I had rebooted the computer. If you need support click and I personally did the \"chat\" so I wouldn't have to wait.
I found that if you quit the installer when it says \"failed to initialize\" and go into your c drive, click on \"program files x86\", go into \"common files\", then into \"adobe\", then rename the file OOBE to \"OOBE.old\" This worked for me on windows

The Adobe Update Manager is installed when you install an Adobe application. The program is launched automatically when you start your computer and runs in the background, checking regularly for updates to your Adobe products. Because this program consumes valuable system resources, disable it if you don't need it. To disable the update manager, you must edit the Windows Registry. Note that you won't be warned when an update is available for one of your Adobe products after you disable the update manager.
Close all Adobe applications and then launch the Registry Editor by typing \"regedit\" in the Start screen and clicking the \"regedit\" app. Before you proceed, note that editing the Registry incorrectly is hazardous and can lead to data loss and other problems. Select the \"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Policies\\Adobe\" node and then create a new key named \"Updater\" in the node. To create a new key, right-click inside the right pane, select \"New\" and click \"Key.\" Create a DWORD value inside the Updater key, name it \"Enterprise\" and then assign it a value of \"1\". To create a new DWORD value, right-click inside the right pane, select \"New\" and choose \"DWORD (32-bit) Value\" from the menu. Close the Registry Editor and then restart your computer.
